Tuesday 18th June 2024: To celebrate the start of summer, Milano has launched a delicious menu of seasonal new dishes, perfect for the warmer months. Launching today, Ireland’s most iconic pizzeria is serving up delectable new additions including an array of plentiful and flavoursome salads, innovative twists on authentic Al Forno dishes, the return of a fan favourite twist on Dough Balls, and two show stopping desserts.
The perfect addition to Milano’s already iconic menu, the new indulgent desserts include a feature of everyone’s favourite biscuit: a Biscoff Billionaire Sundae. This decadent treat is created with Biscoff’s signature Lotus biscuits and sauce, creamy vanilla and salted caramel gelato, finished with chocolate sauce and whipped cream – a delicious finale to any meal.
Those with a taste for the sweet life will also delight in the refreshing Summer Berry and White Chocolate Sundae, which combines smooth vanilla gelato, tangy mixed berries, and a sweet berry coulis, topped with lashings of whipped cream and white chocolate curls – the perfect mix of sweet and sharp.
The innovations don’t stop there, with PizzaExpress bringing a whole host of new dishes to the marble table this season. From a dish the younger Milano fans will love in the Piccolo Creamy Pesto, a pasta creation of creamy béchamel sauce with basil and pine kernel pesto, to summer salads and the return of a fan-favourite Dough Ball creation, the new menu includes:
Dynamite Dough Balls: a spin on the iconic Dough Balls and a returning favourite: Dough Balls coated in a fiery chilli, garlic and basil salsa, and cooled down with Milano’s famous garlic and herb dip. Fans of Dough Balls will rejoice with the return of this beloved twist.
Vegan Buddha Bowl: a colourful bowl of mixed grains, balsamic roasted beetroot, roasted and fresh tomatoes, spinach and rocket with balsamic dressing, hummus and spiced toasted seeds, this dish joins Milano’s menu which is already over 50% vegan or vegetarian.
Goat’s Cheese & Beetroot Buddha Bowl: this delicious salad returns, with the vibrant Buddha Bowl salad base topped with tangy goat’s cheese and sweet beetroot.
Carbonara Milano: an iconic dish, complete with smoky pancetta, Gran Milano cheese, garlic oil and silky béchamel sauce – it’s pure comfort in a bowl.
Prawn Peperonata: a seafood twist on a classic dish, this hearty pasta is mixed with prawns, a tomato and garlic sauce, chilli flakes and roasted peppers and finished with fresh parsley.
Lemon Drop Spritz: A refreshing summer cocktail pack with bright citrus flavours.
Milano Food & Beverage Director Jane Treasure said, “The change of season is always a fun opportunity to play with seasonal ingredients, and our new summer menu is a delicious exploration of those flavours.
