Top Marks in Nationwide Anti-Litter Survey.

Whitewater Shopping Centre is proud to announce the results of a recently published litter review carried out by the business group, Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL). The 2014 nationwide anti-litter survey was conducted in 40 towns, where they assessed cleanliness and level of presentation within each town. Whitewater Shopping Centre achieved a Grade A classification in the national survey.

Of the towns surveyed across Ireland, 85% of the towns surveyed were categorised as “clean to European norms”. Interestingly, within Newbridge, the sites surveyed were generally “cleaner than European norms”, with Newbridge ranking 16th out of the 40 Towns assessed by the IBAL.

Commenting on the IBAL report, Deaglán de Paor, Secretary of Newbridge Tidy Towns Association, observed that the positive results had been achieved; “thanks to the diligence and input of many people in Newbridge including the County Council, the business sector, residence and voluntary groups.”

In its assessment of Whitewater Shopping Centre, the survey reported that; “The main entrance was adorned by wonderfully abundant flower boxes and shrubs. The paving, seating, bins and landscaped area along the side were in pristine condition, not just clear of litter, but meticulous.”

Commenting on the Grade A award achieved by Whitewater Shopping Centre, Ingrid Ryan, Centre Manager noted; “We are delighted to receive this Grade A award here in Whitewater Shopping Centre. We have a great team who work very hard to ensure a premium retail offering, top customer service, centre-wide cleanliness, year-round family-focused events and the latest technology such as Google Indoor-maps, for ease of navigation. We’re always striving to improve. It was great that our Avenue received a special mention, we will strive to keep it full of colourful blooms and well tended. Since day one, nearly nine years ago, we have been very much part of the community and take great pride creating a clean and appealing amenity in the heart of Newbridge for all to enjoy.”
